12:30 meet at Paul Bunyan

*Canned Food Drive Drop off point (E-San Thai in Kenton) Last year we came with 260 lbs of food!

*Kenton Station Annual Xmas Toy Drive. Please bring a toy for a boy or girl… for the cost of a beer you could bring a smile to a kid on xmas…

The Mayor moved out of his place. The tree in front of Kenton Station will have to make due…

12:30 Descend on Kenton (Kenton Station, World Famous Kenton Club, Tavern on Denver, Kenton Liquor store, E-San Thai and a new addition Parkside Pub with a fireplace)
Not a drinker? Look for Posies Coffee Shop

To busy at these places for you? Go to Lombard and Denver Area (Tiny Bubble Room, The Barn (always a party in the smoking area) and North Star Lounge)

1:30 Head south from Kenton
Go to Lombard and Denver Area (Tiny Bubble Room, The Barn (always a party in the smoking area), North Star Lounge or the Mouse Trap (1 blk west of tiny bubble room)

To busy at these places for? Head to Interstate and Portland Blvd/Rosa Parks (Nighthawk or to the Cockoo’s Nest on Denver and Portland/Rosa Parks)

2:30-3:00 Santa vs Banana Games at the Nighthawk. We are told that we will have 2 out door bars set up for us

3:30 Head South To Interstate and Killingsworth (Geroge’s)
Not a drinker? Look for Red E Coffee shop on Killingsworth just east of the freeway

Georges will be packed. Period. Head west on Killingsworth to Lucky Lab, Old Gold, Beaterville, Lost and Found and Atomic Pizza. Dance at Beaterville in this time period. Live music at 5.

Adult walking drink? Hope and Vine Bottle shop of The Plaid Pantry.

Bus service will start around 4:30 with stops at Old Gold area, TARDIS Room, Mississippi and Shaver, the Max stop at Skidmore and then loop around for at least 2 hours. $2 to ride.

5:00 Dance at the TARDIS Room. Taking over a heated back patio…

To busy at the TARDIS Room? Head to Ducketts just East.

Need a warn non alcoholic drink? Look for Red E Coffee shop on Killingsworth just east of the freeway

STAY AWAY FROM SERAVEZA. They dislike Santa almost as much as the Alibi and Prohst! Look for the Santa hater image in their window.

6-6:30 Mississippi Bar Bar, Moloko Plus, Crow Bar, Bridgetown Bottle Shop, Side Car and the Shanty under Modern Man.

Taxi service will be available starting around 8pm. Radio Cab, Green Cab and Portland Taxi will be in the hood just for Santa.

At some point head back to the Dancing Bare.

There are many bars in-between what we have here… Most of them know we area in the hood.

*Kenton Station Annual Xmas Toy Drive. Please bring an unwrapped (or wrapped marked boy/girl) toy for a boy or girl… Last year over 150 of you donated to foster kids in NoPo. For the cost of a beer you could bring a smile to a kid on xmas…

5:00 Head south to The Black Cat (Overlook knows we are coming but…) or head East to Ducketts and/or Red Fox

6:30 Meet on Mississippi. Bridgetown Bottle Shop now has a bar! Moloko, Crow Bar, Sidecar and BarBar are expecting us. Radar (the new soccer bar) might be having a soft opening… if they are, give them a break.

Sometime after 9 head to the Max or Stop by The Black Cat for a quick one… then The Dancing Bare.

Santa out…

Santa Out!

First off we would like to thank all the people and businesses that made this happen.

Second thank you would be to the Santa’s who helped herd the masses without you this would not be half as fun or as organic as it is.

And lastly, as many of you know this will be the last NoPdxAnticon we do. The spirit of the Con has evolved since I began participating 9 years ago. People are making money organizing what they call Santacon and that’s not my thing.

NoPdx was started to bring Santa’s into NoPo and share my neighborhood, my neighborhoods bars, my neighborhoods food carts and my neighborhoods diversity. Please come back and visit when you have a chance.

Lost and Found 2011

I lost/someone picked up my purse Saturday night, none of the bars have it, and I’m hoping if Santa has it, he/she gets a conscious and returns the bag to me. Take all my cash if you like, please just return everything else and no questions will be asked. I can be reached via email at jenn.mulgrew@gmail.com, or my address is on my driver’s license and the bag can just be left on my front porch at any time.

In 1 day it begins. Please for the Santa waiting in line behind you as well as the bars, PAY WITH CASH.

Questions that have come in:

How much does this cost to attend?
$0, but if you want to be Santa like, a small toy for one of the 2 organizations collecting toys for the underprivileged in NoPo would be greatly appreciated.

Will there be routs as in the past?
Yes. Stickers will be handed out at the Paul Bunyan and we will post something online also. We have 3 main routs as in the past + places you can pick up ‘Santa walking drinks’ if needed.

Is this just a bar hop?
Kind of. Think of it as choose your own adventure.

Where is the culture jamming in this?
Again, choose your own adventure.
The Fred Meyers Bell wringer could use some help.
New seasons is having a cheese and holiday ale tasting.
The Max…

Do I have to buy a Max ticket?
Really? If you ride the Max, yes a ticket should be purchased.

What if I’m late?
It’s not mine! Oh… you’re talking about the Con. We will be posting our movement on Twitter (link above) and post stuff here. Sorry Santa’s personal number will not be given out.

Do we have to stay with a group?
All bars are expecting us… if you need to go ahead/stay behind there will be other Santa’s doing the same.

Whats up with the Bananas?
BananaCon is happening the same day. They will join our shenanigans for our first ever Santa vs Banana games to be held over on Killingsworth around 3:30-4’ish.

Dance again?
Yup, in a very minimal way. BarBar has given us their patio to do with as Santa pleases. We will have holiday music piped in, what happens from there is up to you Santa!

Do you need any help?
Sure. Down bellow there is a song book that if you printed a few copies to hand out, Santa would be very happy!
